I’ve seen many people getting flower inked on their body but why would one get tree tattooed? Is it to show the love for Mother Nature? There is lot nature offers. Getting green trees, flowers inked is understood but there is someone who got dead tree tattooed on his lower back. Dead trees don’t appeal many of us but guys; one thing we all would have to agree with is that this dead tree tat is captivating! Ain’t it?

What’s common between Angelina Jolie and football star David Beckham? Yups, tattoos! Beck never seems to get enough of tattoos like he is on his way to give Angelina a strong competition. Guess what? He has got himself inked again. To add to his fit body is yet another tattoo of a biblical proverb written in Hebrew on his left arm. The tattoo quotes My son, do not forget my teaching but keep my commands in your heart. This is his second Hebrew proverb inked, the first one being, I am my beloved and my beloved is mine on his left arm. However, his wife Victoria is not too pleased with her husband’s addiction to body art. But Beck seems to be strongly addicted to tattoos and his love seems to be ever increasing. Tattoo fanatics, as you all know, are impossible!

He sent me before and after shots so we can see the transformation from outline to spectacularly colorful body art. First, the before shots…..

The detail and the line work is exemplary and breath-taking. As someone with a guitar inked on my arm, I can appreciate the intricacies of a finely-drawn instrument. The detail on the mariachi’s jacket cuff is incredible.

Michael explains the basic premise of this tattoo:
In a sense, this piece is a “memorial” tattoo, although I hate to call it that. Since I grew up in the Southwest, Day of the Dead was a regular thing, so I’ve always been drawn to that type of imagery, plus I like the meaning — honoring the dead, and reminding us to live life to the fullest. I picked the mariachis partly because I am so into music, and partly because of the celebratory aspect of mariachis.
Like many intricate tattoos with multiple elements, every part has significance. The tulips, for example, that are growing at the mariachi’s feet, “are an actual heirloom varietal that I have in the garden” [and] are for my wife — tulips are her favorite flower”.

And the angel at the top of the piece (and the top of the post)?

Michael informs us that “the angel is for my mother, who is no longer with us. The angel holds a purple iris (my mother’s favorite flower), and looks down over the whole scene.”
This amazing piece was inked by Susan Behney-Doyle who works out of Jinx Proof Tattoo in Washington, D.C. Mexican folk art is one of her specialties (see a gallery of her work here) and Michael says he “gave her a few reference pieces to look at, but she basically drew it after a consultation”. He continues, “we made just a couple tweaks after I saw the drawing, but it’s a one-of-a-kind custom piece”.
The whole tattoo was crafted back in 2006 over a five-month, seven-session period. Michael notes that one of those sessions was devoted solely to shading the guitar. A closer look at the instrument reveals an incredible complexity of brown variations that truly makes the guitar jump off the skin.

I wish I could give everyone who answered contest one from last week’s news review a prize but unfortch, I only have limited tattoo swag and crap from my parents attic, but I did decide on two winners rather than one for this reason: I love when people have intelligent discourse on tattoo topics in my forums, and done respectfully without flaming. Highbrow indeed!
So the winners are JDL and Scott for their back-n-forth on “fashionable” tattoos. Congrats, guys!
They’ll either receive the Hottest Inked Calendars or such goodies as a straw placemats from the Philippines, a potpourri gift set, or other stuff that no one would ever want. Yes, Needled rewards it winners!
And you can still win. The Sex Blogger Calendar & Tees contest is still goin on until Thursday.
The news is up next tomorrow with plenty of great headlines!

Her first name isn’t baby, it’s Janet, Ms. Jackson if you are nasty. It seems that Ms. Jackson lives up to the nasty name of hers because Janet has a very interesting nasty tattoo of her own. She also has a small collection of other tattoos. Just like so many other celebrities Janet’s tattoos are not very flashy and barely noticeable.

Some injuries get healed but scars remain for long. What if your scar remains on your body forever? Would you believe me that there are few people who love wearing a scar on their body and that too intentionally. I’m talking about getting injuries inked.
Tattoo fanatics you know can think to extremes and inked injuries is yet another exemplar. Steal a quick look at the above picture. Injury marks that make you feel bad about the guy are not real, these are tats! Yups, your read it just correct. You gotta check out cool injury (bullet hole or open wound) tats to believe that tattoo fanatics are unbelievable. Trust me these injuries are not real but tats are…Ironic but true! Simply crazy I must say!

U-kyoke Design, initially designed for a back piece. The Hair would have covered a smaller tattoo that she wanted covered up. I also wanted to mix it with new style. But the initial design was based on simplicity. Really Nice Placement on the body.

Now, I agree that what this woman did was wrong. I’m sure she had absolutely no training, no thought to safety and no concern for the pain it caused the kittens. But I do find the outcry against this woman interesting when the docking of puppy ears and tails is still practiced in this country as standard procedure for show animals, and it’s purely cosmetic just like the kittens’ ears. And have you ever seen a bunch of sheep on a farm with short tails? They’re not born that way - lamb tails are tied off to purposely cut off the circulation and encourage the excess to die and drop off. So why do we condemn one person while turning a blind eye to hundreds for doing basically the same thing?
